Health Services, Policy & Practice

Imagine a world where everyone has access to quality health care—regardless of their social status, ethnicity or financial situation.

At Brown University’s Department of Health Services, Policy & Practice (HSPP), we believe that health care is a fundamental human right that must be protected through thoughtful policies and evidence-based practices.

Our research evaluates the organizational structures and processes of our health care systems. We examine health technologies, personal behaviors that affect access to health care, as well as the quality and cost of care.

Our team is committed to advancing health care research and improving health outcomes for all individuals and communities. Our mission is simple yet powerful: we want to lead the charge in informing effective health policy and implementing initiatives that serve and respect the diverse communities we work with across America and the world.
